12% of Flanders' surface area consists of gardens. Unfortunately, most of these gardens are just lawns with lots of paving and very little life. Now more than ever, both people and nature need high-quality green spaces. Together, we can make this happen, starting in your own garden, because many small efforts can make a big difference. Studio Ginkgo focuses on biodiversity and the experience of the changing seasons.
Custom design
We'll create a contemporary design for your garden that suits your family. We'll discuss all your wishes. A play forest for the kids? A calming garden full of flowers? Or a garden where you can enjoy your own grown fruits? Everything is possible. We always come up with a creative design.
Specialized in animals
Do you have sheep, horses, or turtles in your garden?Studio Ginkgo creates a customized and safe design for every animal. Want to build a unique chicken coop? Add edible plants for your tortoises or rabbits? Or avoid toxic plants that could be harmful to your horses? We take everything into account.
From plan to construction
Thanks to our collaboration with various partners, Studio Ginkgo offers a wide range of expertise. We collaborate with a 3D artist, landscape contractor, and a woodworker. This way, we can transform your garden, from design to completion, worry-free.
— Method —
- Contact Studio Ginkgo: Send us an email with a description/photos of your garden, along with your wishes. Based on this, I can provide a price for the design.
- Garden visit: I will visit your garden and take photos and measurements. We will discuss your wishes and the possibilities.
- Design and planting proposal: I'll create an initial concept design. This includes a layout plan and additional clarifications such as cross-sections, perspectives, details, or reference photos. I'll also propose materials and a diverse selection of plants that suit your garden.
- Design approval/adjustment: We'll go over the first design and planting proposal together. If needed, adjustments can be made to better match your vision.
- Planting design: A detailed planting plan shows exactly which plant goes where and how many of each are needed. It takes into account the right growing conditions for each species and emphasizes seasonal interest, ensuring there's always something to enjoy in your garden all year round.
- Construction: Do you enjoy working in the garden and want to get your hands dirty? You can choose to carry out part or all of the design yourself. Prefer to leave it to a professional? Our trusted landscaper Jarne is ready to help bring your garden to life. During the construction, I'll visit to make sure everything is okey.
- Extra options: Do you want 3D-renders, a woodworker or garden contractor?

— How much does a design cost? —
The price of the design depends on the size of the garden and your wishes. For a complete design (all the steps described above), the price ranges from €1200 (small garden) to €3000 (large garden).
